AFS Document Imaging & File Management

What if you could locate any file in your file
cabinet within seconds, look at any page within the file, and print,
fax, or attach a note -- all while sitting at your desk?
Answer -- the AFS Document Imaging &
File Management Solution
In simple terms, document imaging and file management
is scanning and electronically managing paper files. Many organizations
recognize the need for electronic filing -- either for active files,
archival purposes, or both.
The secret of performing a task that appears to
be so simple, yet can be very sophisticated, is the development
of a system that puts it all together in one user-friendly Windows-based
package - The AFS Information Management Solution. The AFS Information
Management Solution achieves a level of performance beyond any other
system. With the expansion of our IMS systems, the AFS solution
now includes Advanced Task Management, Workflow, and Information
Distribution, addressing any information management requirements
you may have.

About AFS Information Management Solutions
and CD-ROM/DVD Storage
AFS IMS systems are the first of its kind to advocate the use of
CD-ROM, and later DVD, storage media instead of optical disks. Each
image CD/DVD is placed in an independently active drive on a multiple
drive CD or DVD server, or other mass storage device. Once scanned
and indexed, any document image is available to a viewing operator
within one to five seconds.
On the other hand, systems that use optical disks
access a juke box, which typically contains only one or two active
drives, tend to be slow and cumbersome when locating electronic
documents. The software locates an image file and instructs a mechanical
arm to move the proper platter into an available drive. If the drives
are both in use, the image viewing operator must wait - sometimes
several minutes - to view a file. Vendors who market this type of
system "solve" this issue by instructing the administrator
to cache the images the previous day. Realistically, who knows what
documents will be requested from one day to the next?
Because of its ease of use, even a novice PC user
can retrieve, review and print an image file within seconds on the
AFS Information Management System. Since the images are recorded
on CD-ROM or DVD and use mass storage devices, storage space and
speed are never issues.
Each installation is configured
specifically for the requirements of the customer. We will be happy
to address your specific requirements either through email, or by
phone.
